Since 2017 we’ve worked with the local community to bring the previously abandoned Victorian walled garden back to life. The garden is maintained by a team of volunteers, and enables urban connection to nature through forest school, therapeutic horticulture, nature therapy, community herbalism and much, much more! Our ethos across the whole of the organisation is strongly centred around the environment and the protection of nature. We do not use damaging chemicals and pursue a permaculture approach to our work. We take the effect of our actions on nature into account across all our work and focus on the principles of people, planet and social and environmental justice. Most of our work is free, or low cost: we believe that financial hardship should not be a barrier to engagement with the natural world. We target the vast majority of our funded work towards people experiencing special educational needs, disabilities, long term health conditions or adverse experiences.
